The December Solstice, also known as the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, marks the day when one of Earth's poles has its maximum tilt away from the Sun. In Poland, this usually occurs on December 21 or 22. Being in the Northern Hemisphere, it is the shortest day and longest night of the year for Poles.
Historically, the solstice has been celebrated as a significant time of year in many cultures and is often associated with rebirth and renewal. While not as prominently celebrated in Poland as in some other cultures, it does coincide with deeply rooted traditions surrounding Christmas and its preparation period called Advent.
