The September Equinox, also known as the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, marks the moment when the Sun crosses the celestial equator from north to south. In the Netherlands, this event usually occurs around September 22 or 23. During the equinox, day and night are approximately equal in length.
Despite not having prominent traditions associated with it, the September Equinox is an acknowledged part of the seasonal cycle in the Netherlands.
